3 agriculture Businesses You Can Start as a Side Hustle to Generate Passive Income
You can start your own agriculture business as a side hustle while you focus on your main activity. With time, agriculture could become your main activity, who knows.
Start a Snail farm
If you value your time, snails value their free time even more. They eat at night, make no noise and spend most of their time thinking about their life :). Seriously, As far as agriculture side hustles go, snail farming is one of the simplest you can think of.
The idea is that you can go about your business in the day, feed your snails in the evening, clean up their pen and still have enough time for some evening stroll or research or whatnot.
If you are thinking of starting the biggest snail farm in your state then we are no longer talking about a side hustle, are we?
Start a small consulting business
If you are an agro-expert, you can start a consulting business and still do whatever else you got going. You can advise aspiring or existing farmers on how to better manage their farming business.
Don’t let the term ‘consulting’ fool you into thinking of sitting long hours in an office with little time to do anything else.
The only time you spend in consulting business is the time you spend with your clients. If you advise a client for 30 minutes in a day, you have about 17 more hours to do any other business you have for the day. You can even consult for people over the phone, I do it all the time.
When your client base increases to the point where your time is choked, you can consult full-time and make as much money as you want.
Because you are doing this as a side hustle, you will need a strategy to tell people about your vast knowledge and how you can help them without spending so much time away from your main hustle.
Start with publishing guest posts on popular agriculture/business blogs, websites and forums. Participate in online discussions, make regular posts on twitter which shows you know what you are talking, you get the idea.
Cattle farming
Yes, we are still talking about side hustle in agriculture. You can start cattle farming as a side hustle. Simply locate a big cattle farmer, the ones who conduct their business with trust and reliability.
How this works is you buy a calf or a grown cow, depending on your preference, and you keep it with the big cattle farmer you discussed with, who will feed and grow the cow.
At the end of the day, when you make a sale, you share revenue with the ranch based on a prearranged sharing formula.
